Everything happens on your device and works without internet. Only one option leaves it, and only if you choose it and authorize it:

Professional mode (remove background, enlarge with AI) sends the image to an AI server (fal.ai), in the United States.

Processed on your device — the image is not uploaded to any server.

Files it accepts

Format:: JPG, PNG or WEBP
Quantity:: One file at a time.
Maximum size:: Up to 100 MB per file.
Minimum size:: No minimum size: any file that opens fine works (not empty or damaged).

Tips

If the background isn’t a single color, paint one stroke over the background and another over what you want to keep.
To erase something, paint it with some margin: the soft edge of the object has to be covered too.
A transparent background needs PNG or WebP: JPG can’t store it.
