Cookie policy and local storage

PapierPDF uses no cookies, neither its own nor third-party: there is no advertising or tracking. Visits are counted anonymously with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. The only thing PapierPDF stores is local storage in your browser, needed for the application to work, and it is never sent to ZENITH.

1. What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small files that a site stores in your browser and that travel with every visit. Local storage and the cache serve a similar purpose, but the information stays on your device and the site doesn’t receive it automatically.

2. What PapierPDF stores in your browser

NameWhat it is forDuration
papier.acceso.v1
Local storage
Remember your access code: profile, daily limit and expiry.Until you remove the code or clear the site data.
papier.uso.v1
Local storage
Count how many AI-tool trials you used today.Resets every day.

Remember whether you left the document history on or off.Until you clear the site data.
papier-historial
Browser database (IndexedDB)
Keep ON YOUR DEVICE the documents you upload and the ones PapierPDF gives back, so you can reuse them with another tool. They are not sent to any server. You can turn it off or delete it from the History page. They delete themselves after 15 days, or when you remove them.
papier-<version>
Application cache
Keep the application so it opens fast and works offline.Replaced automatically with each new version.
papier-pesados-v1
Application cache
Keep the OCR engine, its languages and the fonts so they aren’t downloaded on every visit.Until you clear the site data.

All of the above is strictly necessary to provide features you ask for — using the application offline, remembering your code or your trial count — so it doesn’t require a consent notice. None of it is sent to ZENITH.

The only exception as far as content goes is the document history: if you leave it on, your files are kept in the browser database of that device so you can use them again. They still don’t leave your device, but if you share the computer, turn it off or use “Delete everything” on the History page.

3. Third-party cookies

PapierPDF doesn’t load third-party services that install cookies in your browser. The typefaces are served from our own domain, and so are the OCR engine and the PDF reading fonts.

4. How to delete this information

  • Chrome or Edge: click the icon next to the site address → Site settings → Clear data.
  • Firefox: padlock icon → Clear cookies and site data.
  • Safari (iPhone): Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data.
  • Installed application: uninstalling it removes its storage.

After deleting it, PapierPDF keeps working: it will just have to download its components again and will forget your access code.

5. Changes

If at some point we add cookies or usage measurement that are not strictly necessary, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before turning them on.
