Privacy policy and personal data processing
In force since 26 October 2026 · PapierPDF by ZENITH
Courtesy translation. This document was written in Spanish, for Colombian law; if the two versions differ, the Spanish version prevails.
In short: your files never leave your device. PapierPDF has no sign-up and no accounts. The only exceptions are Summarize PDF with AI and Translate PDF or Word: they ask for your permission and send the text — never the file — to Google to process it; and the Professional ⭐ features of the image studio, which ask for permission and send the image to an AI server. You can check everything else yourself: open the developer tools (F12), the Network tab, and use any local tool.
1. Data controller
- Controller: Edwin Pantoja Bustos, owner of the ZENITH brand.
- Address: Colombia.
- Email for personal data matters: hola@zenithq.co
- Phone: +57 323 393 2071
- Site: https://papierpdf.zenithq.co
2. What information we do NOT collect
- Your files. In the local processing tools, the document is processed in your browser’s memory and is never sent to our servers.
- Account data. PapierPDF has no sign-up or login. We don’t ask for a name, email, phone number or ID to use it.
- Your PDFs’ passwords. When you protect or unlock a document, the password is used in your browser and discarded. It is neither sent nor stored.
- Tracking or advertising. PapierPDF uses no cookies, advertising pixels or profiling. To know how many people use it, it counts visits anonymously and in aggregate with Cloudflare Web Analytics (see section 4): no cookies, no following you across other sites and no view of your documents.
3. What information is processed, for what and for how long
a) On your own device. To work offline and remember your plan, PapierPDF stores in your browser’s storage the application code, the OCR engine, your access code (if you activated one) and the daily count of trials. If you leave the document history on, the files you upload and the ones PapierPDF gives back are also kept on your device for 15 days or until you delete them; you can turn it off and delete it whenever you want on the History page. That information is not sent to ZENITH. The details are in the Cookie policy.
b) Text or images sent to artificial intelligence. Only if you use Summarize PDF with AI, Translate PDF or Word, Anonymize PDF with AI, Sort and rename documents, Meeting minutes to executive summary, Tables to Excel with AI, Chat with PDF, Contract review or Invoices to Excel, if you pick the AI engine in Transcribe document, or if you tap With AI in the scanner editor (in that case the photo is sent downsized, only to locate the documents). Your browser sends, through our server, the text extracted from the document — or, when transcribing handwriting, the image of each page — to Google LLC’s Gemini service, which processes it and returns the result. If Gemini doesn’t respond (an outage or its quota ran out), in the features that only send text — summarize, translate, chat with the document, review a contract, summarize minutes and explain the changes between two versions — that same text is processed by Cloudflare Workers AI, from Cloudflare, Inc., which already hosts PapierPDF. Purpose: to produce that result. Retention: ZENITH does not keep the text or the result; ZENITH uses the paid tier of the Gemini API: under Google’s terms, at that tier Google does not use what is sent to improve its products and only logs it for a limited time to detect and prevent prohibited use. Cloudflare doesn’t keep it after responding or use it to train models. The tool asks for your express authorization before each sending. If the document contains third parties’ personal data or sensitive data — health data, for example — don’t use these tools with it.
b2) Professional features of the image studio. If you choose “Professional ⭐” to remove a background, erase an object or enhance an image, your browser sends that image — downsized to 2048 px at most, plus the marked area when erasing — through our server to the fal.ai AI service, which processes it and returns the result. Purpose: to produce that result. Retention: ZENITH does not keep the image or the result. The feature asks for your express authorization before the first sending. The free version of those same features runs on your device and sends nothing. Don’t use the professional features with other people’s images without their permission or with identity documents.
c) Technical connection data. As on any website, your IP address is processed when you connect. PapierPDF uses it in the server’s memory for a few seconds, and only in the AI tools, to prevent abuse of the service (maximum requests per minute); it is not stored in a database. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, Inc., may log technical data about requests (IP, date, requested address) to operate and protect the infrastructure.
d) If you write to us. If you contact us by email or phone, we use your name, your contact details and what you tell us only to answer you, and we keep them for as long as needed to handle your request. Our corporate email is hosted by Hostinger.
e) Optional survey. Some tools invite you to rate them. If you answer, we receive by email the score, the improvements you ticked and the short comment you write, together with the name of the tool. We don’t ask for your name or email: please don’t put personal data in the comment. We use the answers only to improve PapierPDF.
4. Providers and international transfers
To provide the service we use providers located outside Colombia, who act as data processors:
- Google LLC (United States) — processes the text, or the page image when transcribing handwriting, for the AI tools.
- Resend, Inc. (United States) — emails ZENITH the answers to the optional survey (and technical downtime alerts, which contain no personal data).
- Features & Labels, Inc. (fal.ai) (United States) — processes the images for the image studio’s professional features, only when you allow it.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) — hosts and delivers the application, and keeps technical error reports for a few days (what failed, in which tool and with which browser). Those reports never include your documents, their names or their content. If Gemini doesn’t respond, it processes the text of the AI tools that only send text (Workers AI), without keeping it or training models on it. It also counts visits anonymously and in aggregate (Cloudflare Web Analytics): which page was opened, which site you came from, the type of browser and device, and the country. It uses no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and doesn’t identify people.
By authorizing the sending in the AI tools, you expressly authorize that international transmission, in accordance with article 26 of Colombian Law 1581 of 2012. The local processing tools transfer no data.
5. Sensitive data and minors’ data
PapierPDF does not request sensitive data or data about children or teenagers. If you process documents that contain them, do it with the local processing tools, which send them nowhere.
6. Your rights as a data subject
In accordance with article 8 of Colombian Law 1581 of 2012, you have the right to:
- Know, update and correct your personal data.
- Request proof of the authorization given.
- Be informed about the use that has been made of your data.
- Revoke the authorization and request the deletion of your data.
- Access your data free of charge.
- File complaints with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (Colombia’s data protection authority).
Since PapierPDF does not keep personal data on its servers, in practice we hold no information about you to consult or delete; what exists in your browser you can delete yourself. Even so, you can exercise any of these rights.
7. How to exercise your rights
Write to hola@zenithq.co stating your name, your request and a way to reply. We answer inquiries within 10 business days and complaints within 15 business days, extendable under articles 14 and 15 of Law 1581 of 2012, telling you the reason.
8. Security
The main security measure is by design: information that never leaves your device can’t leak from our servers. In addition, the site works only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), applies content security policies and doesn’t allow other sites to embed it. The security of what happens on your device also depends on your device and your browser.
9. Browser extension
The PapierPDF extension (Chrome, Edge, Firefox and compatible browsers) does not collect, store or send any data to ZENITH or to third parties. It reads the PDF or image you choose — with a right click, its button or by capturing the tab — only to hand it to PapierPDF inside your own browser, where it is processed like any other file. It asks for permission to read a site only when you open a file from that site, and you can withdraw it in your browser settings. AI features still ask for your express authorization, as explained in section 3.
10. Validity and changes
This policy is in force from the date shown at the top. If the way information is handled changes — for example, when a feature that requires a server is turned on — we will update this page and the tool will tell you before you use it.
